CHAPTER IV. BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTIONCHAPTER IV. BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION\ARTICLE 10. HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING CODE AND FUEL GAS CODE

There is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the installation, maintenance, alteration and repair of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and all related equipment and accessories. (See Chapter 1 of the International Mechanical Code.) All HVAC contractors and any other contractors performing work related to HVAC installations shall abide by the rules set forth in this code and referenced by this code. The International Mechanical Code, 2003 Edition, is being made as a part of the ordinances and code of the city as if the same had been set out in full herein, all as authorized and in the manner prescribed by K.S.A. 12-3009 through 12-3012 including any amendments thereto. No fewer than three copies of the International Mechanical Code, 2003 Edition, shall be marked or stamped “Official Copy as Incorporated by the Code of the City of Baldwin City,” and shall be filed with the city clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours of business.

(See Chapter 1 of the International Fuel Gas Code.) All plumbing contractors, HVAC contractors and all gasfitters shall abide by the rules set forth in this code and referenced by this code. The International Fuel Gas Code, 2003 Edition, is being made as a part of the ordinances and code of the city as if the same had been set out in full herein, all as authorized and in the manner prescribed by K.S.A. 12-3009 through 12-3012 including any amendments thereto. No fewer than three copies of the International Fuel Gas Code, 2003 Edition, shall be marked or stamped “Official Copy as Incorporated by the Code of the City of Baldwin City, “ and shall be filed with the city clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours of business.

Every mechanical contractor, HVAC contractor and every contractor employed as a gasfitter shall, before engaging in business in the city, provide proof of substantial liability insurance, a copy of a master level certification and secure from the city clerk an annual license, the fee for which is hereby fixed at $25.00.

Any person violating any provision of the above codes shall be punished as provided by section 1-118 of the city code.
