ARTICLE 1. FIRE LIMITS

The following shall be and hereby is declared to be the fire limits of the city:

Beginning at the center of the intersection of Ninth and Indiana Streets rights-of-way; thence east along the centerline of Indiana Street right-of-way to the centerline of Fifth Street right-of-way; thence north along the centerline of Fifth Street right-of-way to the centerline of Grove Street right-of-way; thence West along the centerline of Grove Street right-of-way to the centerline of Ninth Street right-of-way; thence south along the centerline of Ninth Street right-of-way to the point of beginning.

Any existing building or structure within the fire limits of wood frame construction or of unprotected noncombustible construction which may hereafter become damaged by fire, decay or otherwise to an amount greater than 50% of its present value, exclusive of its foundation, shall not be repaired or rebuilt except as provided by the Use, Occupancy, and Construction requirements of the International Building Code, 2003 Edition, and as provided for by 16-2,176 of Chapter 16 of this code, which allows for the rebuilding of nonconforming residential structures.
